Overview
A watch is not an ordinary parcel. Every Billyswatches order travels by FedEx overnight service, fully insured, and at no additional shipping charge to you. We do not treat shipping as a revenue line; we treat it as the last part of the purchase that can go wrong, and we ship accordingly.
Free overnight shipping
Overnight shipping is included in the price of your watch. There is no separate shipping charge added at checkout, no surcharge for expedited handling, and no minimum order value to qualify.
We use FedEx overnight service rather than a slower ground option deliberately: the fewer nights a valuable package spends in a network, the smaller the window in which anything can happen to it.
Full insurance in transit
Every shipment is fully insured for the value of its contents, from the moment it is collected from us until it is delivered to the address on your order. That cover is arranged and paid for by us. You are not asked to buy shipping insurance, and you are not exposed if a package is lost or damaged while it is in the carrier’s hands.
If something does go wrong in transit, we handle the claim with the carrier. Your relationship is with us, not with FedEx.
Order processing and dispatch
Orders are prepared for dispatch once payment has been received, cleared and verified, as set out in our Payment Policy. Watches paid for by wire transfer are released once the funds have cleared; card payments are released once the transaction has been authorised and verified.
Before a watch is dispatched it is checked against your order, prepared, and packed for transit. Once it has been handed to FedEx, you receive shipping confirmation and tracking information.
Tracking your shipment
You are sent a FedEx tracking number when your order is dispatched. Use it to monitor the shipment through to delivery, and to see the scheduled delivery date and any exception scans as they happen.
Tracking is the fastest and most accurate view of where your watch is — it updates before we do. If tracking shows something you do not expect, an unexplained delay, a failed delivery attempt or a redirect, tell us and we will take it up with FedEx.
Delivery times
Your watch is delivered the next business day after it ships. That is the entire reason we use FedEx overnight rather than a cheaper ground service: once your watch leaves us, it is with you the following business day.
Next day after dispatch — not after ordering
Worth being precise about, because the two are easily confused. The overnight clock starts when your watch is handed to FedEx, and that happens once your payment has cleared and been verified. A card payment authorised and dispatched on a Monday arrives Tuesday. A wire that clears on Wednesday ships Wednesday and arrives Thursday.
If you need a watch to arrive by a particular date, tell us before you order and we will confirm what is achievable for your payment method and address.
Business days
Overnight service runs on business days. Weekends and public holidays are not business days, so a watch dispatched on a Friday is scheduled for Monday delivery unless Saturday delivery has been arranged with us in advance.
The rare exception
Next-business-day delivery is FedEx’s committed service and it is met the overwhelming majority of the time. The exceptions are the ones no carrier controls:
- Severe weather, natural events or air traffic disruption
- An address FedEx cannot access, or where a required signature cannot be obtained
- An incomplete or incorrect delivery address
- Remote destinations where overnight service is not offered — we will tell you before you order if this applies
If your shipment is affected, the tracking record will show it, we will tell you what we know, and your watch remains fully insured for every hour it is in transit.
Your address and contact details
Please check that the delivery address and contact details on your order are complete and correct before you confirm. Include an apartment, unit or suite number where one applies.
An incorrect or incomplete address is the most common cause of a delayed delivery, and once a package has entered the FedEx network an address cannot always be changed. If you spot a mistake, tell us immediately — if the watch has not yet been dispatched we can usually correct it.
Please also make sure the phone number and email address on your order reach you, as FedEx may need to contact you to complete delivery.
Receiving your shipment
Depending on the value of the shipment and FedEx’s own requirements, a signature may be required on delivery, and an adult may need to be present to sign for it. Packages of this value are not normally left unattended.
Consider whether an address where someone is reliably present during business hours is the better destination. If nobody is available, FedEx will usually attempt delivery again or hold the package for collection; the tracking record will tell you which.
Our packaging is deliberately discreet. Nothing on the outside of the parcel identifies its contents or its value.
Inspecting your package on delivery
Please inspect the package before you sign for it, and before you open it. Look for crushing, tears, water damage, a broken seal or any sign that it has been opened.
If the outer packaging is visibly damaged or looks like it has been tampered with, note it on the delivery record with the driver where you can, photograph the package before and after opening it, and keep all packaging material.
Once opened, check the watch against the listing you purchased and the documentation enclosed.
Reporting shipping damage or loss
Report any shipping damage, tampering or shortage to us promptly, and in any event as soon as you reasonably can after delivery. Prompt reporting matters: carrier claims are time-limited, and the evidence gathered in the first hours is what settles them.
When you contact us, please provide your order number, the tracking number, photographs of the outer packaging, photographs of the contents as you found them, and a description of what is wrong. We will open a claim with the carrier and deal with it from there.
If tracking shows a package as delivered but you have not received it, tell us. We will trace it with FedEx.
Where we ship
Billyswatches is based at 4801 Outer Loop, Louisville, KY 40219, and ships to customers throughout the United States by FedEx overnight service.
If you are ordering from outside the United States, or to a destination where overnight service is not offered, please contact us before placing your order so we can confirm what is possible for your address. Where a shipment is subject to customs, any import duties or taxes levied by the destination country are the responsibility of the recipient.
